Keramag - Sanitary Ceramics and Bathroom ConceptsAt the ISH 2005 in Frankfurt, the German market leader in sanitary ceramics, Keramag introduced a new bathroom concept called ‘Flow’, developed by the internationally renowned architect and designer, Hadi Teherani. NEW BATHROOM CONCEPTThe product philosophy aims at creating an architecturally inspired and challenging design concept located in the middle price range, that offers alternative interior styling opportunities and appeals to both private homeowners / builders and developers as well as architects, sanitary installers, investors, housing trusts, hotels and restaurants. The starting point for this innovative bathroom range is Hadi Teherani's vision of integrating the ceramic objects within the architectural space of the room. Hadi Teherani describes his aims as, "The products are to be viewed in direct connection with the space and its interior planning. The shapes quite naturally develop from the given material. From the space in the room a wall transforms into an object. 'Flow' can be applied in an individual way, both in private and in public spaces. Sensuality and hygiene are essential." CREATIVE ARCHITECTS AND DESIGNERSHadi Teherani is regarded as one of the most creative architects and designers in Germany today. Partner of Bothe Richter Teherani Architects (BRT), Hadi Teherani has in the last few years set new standards with regard to design and technological innovation. Large projects for trade and industry, and the transport industry, in addition to many architectural awards, testify to his achievement. His credo can be summarized as challenging designs, exploring functionality, calculable user-gratification, and a responsible attitude to resources and materials. He defines his interest and commitment in the area of industrial mass production as ‘design as architecture in miniature’. BASINS, WASHBASINS, WASH-DOWN WC AND FLOORHUNG WCThe complete series ‘Flow’ by Hadi Teherani consists of:
In addition, there is an exceptionally original programme of bathroom furniture. Teherani’s ceramic objects blend harmonically into their environment through their organic language of form and their broad backings, which symbolise the fusion of wall and product. The completely smooth outer surfaces ensure ultimate hygiene and allow easy cleaning. All models are consistent in design with a border height of 15cm, which underlines the notions of familiar identity and appreciation, particularly in serial arrangements. SANITARY TECHNOLOGYWith regard to sanitary technology, too, Keramag has managed to exceed. This is especially true for the ease of assembly. For example, the washbasin can be adjusted by 5cm during initial assembly. For WCs and bidets modern quick-fix-installations are available. Half-pedestals and urinals boast invisible ‘Kerafix’-fixations. And all ceramic objects may optionally be obtained with the dirt-repellent glaze ‘KeraTect®’. The exclusive range of furniture is technically and functionally matched in the smallest detail to the ceramic designs. The original handle form, which follows the linear lines of the washbasin border, creates a noticeable and convincing design link between ceramics and furniture. The handles are available with individual colour applications on request. The heightened value is also evident in the materials used: The body of the ‘Flow’ furniture is mitre-cut and made from matt-lacquered MDF, as opposed to the melamine coated particle boards more commonly used in competing products within this price range. The front panels are offered as lacquered matt-white or light oak. Drawers are integral. This modular offer comprises washbasin cabinets in two widths (70cm and 85cm) as well as two different drawer options. Two lighting mirrors and a tall cabinet round off this comprehensive series by Teherani. Each one of the washbasin cabinets may alternatively be installed as a side cabinet. The sideboard serves as a unique highlight with a length of 140cm.
