Robust wireless networks for hotels

In addition to guest internet services and the staff administration network, The Celtic Manor Resort uses its wireless network for chip and pin, IP phones and wireless waitressing throughout the resort's restaurants. The resort has trialled wireless temperature monitoring in its fridges and extended the network to the Newbridge on Usk, a historic country house six miles away from the main estate. The Celtic Manor Resort is planning further applications to run over the robust wireless network in order to optimise the guest experience.

At The Celtic Manor Wales Open the wireless network coped with the demands of around 100 journalists, and when it came to The Ryder Cup 2010 and the Welsh weather postponed play, the Juniper Networks' system ably coped with over 200 people at a time connected. The Juniper Networks system provided a lifeline in some areas as the use of mobile phones was banned.
