Since its inception in the 1960s, the Vola range of bathroom and kitchen fittings has developed technologically but stayed true to its original concept. ICONIC KITCHEN AND BATH FITTINGSIn production for over three decades, the Vola brand of kitchen and bath fittings, designed by renowned Danish architect Arne Jacobsen in 1968, has become an icon of modern design. Awarded the prestigious ID-prize soon after its introduction, the Vola line has been included in such international design collections as the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, the Kunstgewerbemuseum in Cologne, the Cincinnati Art Museum, and the Neue Sammlung in Munich. Renowned for its streamlined form and quality engineering, Jacobsen's design for Vola has remained unchanged for over 30 years. Since Jacobsen's death in 1971, Teit Weylandt, a former assistant, and Vola Director Carsten Overgaard, have continued to introduce new products into the Vola range establishing Vola as an international brand at the state of the art technologically, while keeping the original principles of pure geometrical design and functionality. ELECTRONIC TAPThe HV1E electronic tap is among the latest and most exciting innovations. Without compromising the aesthetic of Jacobsen's original shape, Vola A/S, has developed an electronic tap produced in stainless steel. This was accomplished by integrating three barely perceptible sensors into the fitting body to enable seamless hands-free operation – ideal for ADA-compliant commercial and residential applications. The HV1E joins the extensive Vola product offering, notable for its superior craftsmanship and materials. Deck- or wall-mounted mixers, taps and accessories are all made from solid brass and gunmetal with a few components in stainless steel. The line is available in several finishes including a new solid stainless steel, polished or brushed chrome, natural brass or a choice of 18 colors. Its modular system – comprised of valves, handles, spouts, cover plates, and myriad accessories – ensures Vola's unique versatility. Components can be configured to meet a variety of commercial and residential requirements, and an innovative mounting system simplifies installation. NEW SHOWER CONCEPTThe Vola shower concept, its foundations having been laid almost 40 years previously, has also been developed. A cylinder, the basis on which Jacobsen designed Vola, is used once again as the starting point for Vola's long-awaited high performance ceiling and wall-mounted showerheads. Capable of delivering up to 26L to 27L per minute, the new showerhead is a much-needed addition to the Vola shower concept, fulfilling a strong wish by Vola users for a high-flow cascade-style head. To supply such a flow, Vola has also produced a ¾in thermostatic valve for use with this or indeed any of Vola's existing outlets. The new Vola showerheads are available in polished chrome and brushed chrome. For more information, please contact:
