White Paper on the Evolution of Self-Service Solutions in the Global Hotel Industry
19 January 2012This white paper forecasts that, starting in 2012, hoteliers will continue to explore customer-friendly ways to use self-service technology to edge-out the competition.
According to the paper, statistics revealed online check-ins at hotels increased by 13% in 2011 compared to 60% in 2010, while kiosk check-in dropped to 65% in 2011 against 71% in the corresponding period in 2010.
Data also showed that mobile check-ins touched 24% in 2011 compared to 23% in the previous year.
The paper notes that more than nine out of ten decision makers in the hospitality industry believe mobile and wireless technology is increasing in importance and 56% of hospitality companies are planning to spend more on mobile technology to enhance the customer experience.
