Term: Closed Circuit Television


Definition:

Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) is used as part of a surveillance system on hotel premises. Images captured by closed circuit video cameras are streamed onto monitors and recorded on VCRs or digital video recorders. Along with access control and alarm systems, they are used as a security measure. CCTV provides security staff with a visual aid for monitoring staff and visitors.
