Thomas Cook, Europe's second largest travel company, says demand for summer holidays in all its major markets has remained strong despite fears of tightening consumer spending.
The group reported a currency adjusted pro forma operating loss of €193.6m in the six months to 31 March, compared with a €267.6m loss the year before, Reuters reports.
Thomas Cook says early trading for winter 2008-09 in the UK and Northern Europe has been "encouraging".
