Online travel agency Priceline.com said Tuesday it has lowered or eliminated three fees linked to hotel bookings.
The move, which follows the company's termination of airline booking fees in 2007, lowered the booking fee for all published-price hotel reservations and eliminates the fee to cancel reservations as well as the fee to change reservations.
The changes, however, do not affect reservation change or cancellation rules required by certain hotels.
Priceline competes directly with rivals Expedia Inc and Orbitz Worldwide for travel bookings. The company, perhaps best known for its name-your-own-price booking method, has seen its shares rise some 65% in the last year.
