Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts will participate for a second consecutive year in Earth Hour, a global climate change initiative, as part of its commitment to save the environment.
More than 60 Shangri-La hotels and resorts will turn off their lights on 27 March between 8:30 and 9:30pm, which will in turn save 60MW of electricity.
The hotel group said it is committed to building greener hotels, using 100% eco-friendly machines and "greening the supply chain".
All its hotel guests will be involved in energy-saving activities to help reduce its carbon footprint, the company said.
Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts is Asia Pacific's luxury hotel group. Earth Hour is a climate change initiative by the Worldwide Wildlife Fund for Nature.
