US hotel occupancy for June rose 6.9% to 65% in year-over-year measurements, according to an STR Global report.
The US hotel industry posted a 1% increase in its average daily rate (ADR) to $98.33 while revenue per available room (revPAR) for the month rose 8% to $63.87.
Oahu Island, posted the largest increase in occupancy with 78.8%, followed by Minneapolis with 71.6% and Denver with 76.6%.
New York registered the only double-digit ADR increase among the top markets with 15.4% to $230.11.
ADR fell by 9.25% to $105.31 in New Orleans, the largest decrease followed by Detroit, down 5.8% to $75.73, and Seattle, which dropped 5.7% to $112.02.
New York achieved the largest revPAR increase with $198.84 followed by Chicago, Minneapolis, Denver, Oahu Island and Boston.
New Orleans and Dallas posted decreases in revPAR with Seattle ending the month virtually flat with a 0.6% drop, according to hospitalitybizindia.com.
