Shanghai's Fairmont Peace Hotel Reopens

Fairmont Peace Hotel in Shanghai, China, has reopened following a three-year renovation worth $64m.

Hirsch Bedner Associates worked with local historians to restore and reconstruct the hotel's art deco features.

The renovation involved the addition of a new wing with 270 rooms, a sky-lit swimming pool, elevators and other amenities, according to channelnewsasia.com.

The hotel will be managed by a joint venture of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts and China's state-owned Jin Jiang Hotels.
