Anantara to open two resorts in Oman by mid-2016

Anantara Hotels, Resorts and Spas plans to open two luxury resorts, the Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar Resort and the Al Baleed Resort - Salalah, in Oman later this year.

Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar Resort will come up in the northeastern part of Oman while Al Baleed Resort - Salalah will open in the southern province of Dhofar.

Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar is located in Saiq Plateau of Green Mountain.

"The opening of not one but two Anantara Resorts in the Sultanate of Oman in mid-2016 is a huge milestone for the brand and reflects our rapid growth in the region."

The resort is situated 2,000m above sea level, making it the highest resort in the Middle East, as well as one of the highest in the world.

Designed to reflect traditional Omani architecture, it will have 82 premier and deluxe rooms. It will also have six restaurants and lounges, including a poolside Italian restaurant and an all-day dining venue, and a café.

Al Baleed Resort - Salalah is located 10km from the city centre and 15km from the airport.

This resort will have 40 premier and deluxe rooms and offer views of the Arabian Sea, as well as of the lagoon.

Minor Hotel Group chief operating officer Robert Kunkler was quoted by Gulfbusiness.com as saying: "The opening of not one but two Anantara Resorts in the Sultanate of Oman in mid-2016 is a huge milestone for the brand and reflects our rapid growth in the region."
