Global hospitality and travel company Carlson is to set up 100 hotels in India by 2015.

The company, which runs hotels under the Radisson, Country Inns & Suites, Park Inn and Park Plaza brands, will also pick up strategic stakes in some of the properties.

By the end of 2011, Carlson aims to have opened 19 hotels across its four brands in the cities of Agra, Haridwar, Rudrapur and Mussoorie, bringing its total number of hotels in operation to over 50.

The expansion is part of Carlson’s ‘Ambition 2015’ strategy to grow its global portfolio by at least 50% to more than 1,500 hotels by 2015.
