Marriott International has opened its first property in Ghana under the Protea brand, named Protea Hotel Select Takoradi.
Located in Sekondi-Takoradi, the hotel features 132 rooms that includes 12 two bedroom apartments and is designed to cater to the needs of business and leisure travellers.
According to Marriott International Middle East & Africa president Alex Kyriakidis, the opening of the hotel under the Protea Hotels brand showcases Marriott’s focus on expanding its own footprint, as well as Protea Hotels in strategic growth areas within Africa.
It will feature a large restaurant, bar and lounge, terrace and pool area, along with a gym, and Wi-Fi connectivity.
The hotel also features conference facilities that can accommodate a maximum of 150 delegates.
