Germany-based Worldhotels is to launch ten hotels in India under the Worldhotels brand by 2014 as part of its newly launched brand licence programme.

Worldhotels Asia Pacific vice-president Roland Jegge said the company will develop and support 50 hotels worldwide by the end of 2014, ten of which will be in India, according to the Press Trust of India.

The company is already developing a 75-room property in Chandigarh, and is in talks with hotel owners in Pune and Hyderabad to develop more than 2,000 rooms by 2014.

India will contribute 5% to Worldhotels global sales by 2014 compared with the current 2%, while Asia Pacific contributes 20% to the company’s total sales.

Worldhotels will also develop over 75 hotels in China under the Worldhotel brand over the next ten years.

The company’s brand licence programme will enable hotel owners to develop and manage their hotels to match global standards by offering services such as marketing, training, sales and revenue management.
