The Radisson Blu Hotel in Madrid, Spain, is owned by the Rezidor Hotel Group and is the company’s first hotel in the city. Inaugurated on 11 January 2010, it is located 500m from the Atocha high-speed railway station, opposite the Prado Museum.

Accommodation

The hotel features 54 guest rooms including six suites. It offers three types of room: standard, business-class and suites. Rooms for disabled customers and non-smokers are available on request.

The 24m² standard room can accommodate up to three guests and comes with a balcony. Business-class rooms are located on the second and third floors. Six 50m² suites are located in the corners of the hotel.

The suite differentiates the sleeping and living area allowing guests to have separate rooms for meetings and dining.

The hotel also features a bridal suite, soundproofed rooms and allergy-free rooms.

Interior design

The hotel was designed by Sandra Tarruella and Isabel Lopez in a grey and brown colour palette.

In-room amenities

The hotel’s in-room facilities include an espresso coffee machine, flat-panel liquid crystal display television, individual climate control, an in-room safe and a work desk.

Guests in business rooms can transmit and receive faxes and make up to 20 photocopies free of charge. A super breakfast buffet is available for business guests along with a complimentary newspaper.

Dining facilities

The hotel has a grill restaurant, the Cask, which can accommodate 40 guests. The Whiskey and Lounge bars offer a large selection of malts, cocktails and Spanish tapas.

The Cask’s menu includes meats, chicken and fish and signature dishes such as grilled rib-eye steak and scallops with chestnut broth and foie gras.

A super breakfast buffet with about 120 breakfast items is also served at the restaurant. A variety of omelettes and clambered eggs, cured hams, croissants, breads and fresh juices are available.

The Whisky bar offers 20 high-quality malt whiskeys. It also boasts a glass ceiling and unique lighting fixtures.

Spa and health facilities

The spa integrates an indoor swimming pool, a steam room, and a relaxation and fitness area. It also provides treatments and massages for guests.

There is a gym equipped with cardiovascular machines, bicycles and treadmills. Personal trainers are also available.

Conference and meeting facilities

The hotel has 43m² of conference area which comprises three boardrooms. The total conference area can be increased to 89m² by incorporating the boardrooms with the bar area existing just beside the conference area.

The conference hall is Wi-Fi enabled to provide delegates with high-speed internet access.
