HT RFID electronic locking system

The Silken Amara Plaza Hotel, designed by world-famous architect Peña Ganchegui, has chosen to upgrade to Onity’s latest locking technology, the HT RFID electronic locking system, providing maximum security for all 162 of its luxury rooms. HT RFID is the latest addition to the existing HT product line. Onity is part of UTC Climate, Controls & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp.

The Amara Plaza Hotel first installed the Onity HT22 electronic locks in 1992 and later upgraded to the HT24 locks. The hotel is extremely happy with the Onity system, valuing its reliability and ease of operation. Following current market trends, the hotel was looking to update the existing locking system to contactless RFID technology. The European region has rapidly adopted RFID as it provides a more modern and pleasing aesthetic to hoteliers.

"Hotel Silken Amara Plaza is committed, above all, to ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction by offering comfort, service and quality in a relaxing atmosphere," said Raul Fernandez, director, Silken Amara Plaza Hotel. "Onity’s product reliability and excellent service have been instrumental to achieving this in the past, and we entrust them again to upgrade our locks to the latest market technology."

Onity’s HT RFID replaces traditional magnetic stripe technology with radio frequency identification technology, eliminating the need for physical contact between the card and the reader.

"Onity’s HT locking Series is our flagship product and HT RFID allows current HT customers to quickly and easily upgrade from traditional magnetic stripe technology to RFID, which is rapidly becoming the global standard for contactless cards," said Borja Ibarrondo, managing director, Onity – Europe, Middle East and Africa. "A contactless solution, the HT RFID lock offers the option to use multiple credentials such as wristbands and key chains."
