This compares to a 163% increase versus Q3 2021.

Notably, General and Operations Managers jobs accounted for a 4% share of the global travel and tourism industry’s corporate governance-related total new job postings in Q3 2022, down 6% over the prior quarter.

General and Operations Managers drive corporate governance-related hiring activity

General and Operations Managers, with a share of 4%, emerged as the top corporate governance-related job roles within the travel and tourism industry in Q3 2022, with new job postings drop by 6% quarter-on-quarter. Computer and Information Systems Managers came in second with a share of 3% in Q3 2022, with new job postings rising by 95% over the previous quarter.

The other prominent corporate governance roles include Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers with a 3% share in Q3 2022, Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a 2% share of new job postings.

Top five companies in travel and tourism industry accounted for 54% of hiring activity

The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q3 2022 were Wizz Air, American Airlines Group, Walt Disney and Union Pacific. Together they accounted for a combined share of 54% of all corporate governance-related active jobs in the travel and tourism industry.

Wizz Air posted 642 corporate governance-related new jobs in Q3 2022, American Airlines Group 536 jobs, Walt Disney 370 jobs, and Union Pacific 292 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.

Hiring activity was driven by the US with a 58% share of total active job postings, Q3 2022

The largest share of corporate governance-related new job postings in the travel and tourism industry in Q3 2022 was in the US with 58% followed by Hungary (11%) and the UK (6%). The share represented by the US was 11 percentage points lower than the 69% share it accounted for in Q2 2022.
