South & Central America witnessed a 3.3% rise in IT hiring activity in the travel & tourism industry in July 2021 compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics index.

July 2021 has seen an increase of 29.58% in the overall hiring activity when compared with June 2021.

IT jobs accounted for a 2.75% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in July 2021, registering decrease of 1.6% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in July 2021

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 81.82% in July 2021, a 30.77% drop over the previous month. Computer and Information Analysts came in next, claiming a share of 18.18% in July 2021, marking a flat month-on-month increase.

Top five travel & tourism companies in South & Central America’s IT recruitment activity in July 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 166.67% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s travel & tourism industry during July 2021 over previous month.

Soneva Mauritius posted 2 IT jobs in July 2021 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by AccorHotels with 2 jobs and a 100% growth. Hotelbeds S.L.U. with 2 IT jobs and Selina Holding Co with 1 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 50% drop, respectively, while A.P. Moller – Maersk recorded a flat growth with 1 job postings during July 2021.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s travel & tourism industry

Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s travel & tourism industry IT hiring activity with a 27.27% share in July 2021, a 50% decline over June 2021. Argentina featured next with an 18.18% share, down 50% over the previous month. Panama recorded an 18.18% share, a growth of 100% compared with June 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 72.73%, down by 33.33% from June 2021. Entry Level positions with an 18.18% share, a flat growth compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 9.09% share, down 80% over June 2021.
