South & Central America witnessed a 0.5% drop in IT hiring activity in the apparel industry in September 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.

September 2021 has seen an increase of 1.74% in the overall hiring activity when compared with August 2021.

IT jobs accounted for an 8.85% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in September 2021, registering a decrease of 0.39% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in September 2021

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 66.67% in September 2021, a 67.57% rise over the previous month. Computer Support Specialists came in next, claiming a share of 12.9% in September 2021, marking a 9.09% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 9.68% in September 2021, an 18.18% drop from August 2021.

Computer and Information Analysts registered a share of 7.53% in September 2021, a 40% rise over the previous month.

Top five apparel companies in South & Central America’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 43.55% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s apparel industry during September 2021 over previous month.

Amazon posted 44 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered an increase of 29.41% over the previous month, followed by Robert Bosch with 26 jobs and a 4% growth. adidas with 8 IT jobs and Danaher with 7 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while MerckInc recorded a 33.33% increase with 4 job postings during September 2021.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s apparel industry

Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s apparel industry IT hiring activity with a 69.89% share in September 2021, a 44.44% increase over August 2021. Costa Rica featured next with an 11.83% share, up 22.22% over the previous month. Colombia recorded an 8.6% share, a flat growth compared with August 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 58.06%, up by 31.71% from August 2021. Mid Level positions with a 29.03% share, registered a growth of 145.45% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 12.9% share, down 14.29% over August 2021.
