The five fastest growing tourism destinations in the Middle East in 2022

Verdict predicts top five fastest growing tourist destinations in the the Middle East in 2022 based on estimates from GlobalData’s traveller demands & flows database.

1. UAE-year-on-year growth (50.8%)

A year-on-year growth of 50.8% in international arrivals in 2022 is expected to make UAE the fastest growing destination in the Middle East, forecasts GlobalData. According to GlobalData’s traveller demands & flows database, India, Saudi Arabia and the UK are expected to be the largest source markets for UAE in 2022.

2. Saudi Arabia-year-on-year growth (55.9%)

According to GlobalData’s traveller demands & flows database, Saudi Arabia will be the second fastest growing source market in the Middle East, recording a year-on-year growth of 55.9% in international arrivals. GlobalData predicts that Pakistan, Kuwait and India will be the largest source markets for Saudi Arabia in 2022.

3. Kuwait-year-on-year growth (21.6%)

GlobalData forecasts that Kuwait will see a year-on-year growth of 21.6% in international arrivals in 2022, making it the third fastest growing destination in the Middle East. According to GlobalData’s traveller demands & flows database, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and India are forecast to be the largest source markets in 2022.

4. Iran-year-on-year growth (20%)

International arrivals to Iran are expected to grow by 20% year-on-year in 2022, making it the fourth fastest growing destination in the Middle East, according to GlobalData’s traveller demands & flows database. GlobalData, further, predicts that Iraq, Azerbaijan and Afghanistan will be the largest source markets for Iran in 2022.

5. Israel-year-on-year growth (19.5%)

GlobalData forecasts that Israel will be the fifth fastest growing destination in the Middle East with international arrivals projected to grow at 19.5% year-on-year in 2022. According to GlobalData’s travelertraveller demands & flows database, USA, France and Germany are forecast to be the largest source markets for Israel in 2022.
