Choice Hotels International, a franchisor of the Cambria Hotels brand, has signed a multi-unit agreement with Stratus Development Partners to develop Cambria hotels in the US.

Under the agreement, five Cambria properties will be constructed in Santa Clara, California.

Choice Hotels vice president Mark Shalala said: “The Cambria Hotels brand is experiencing tremendous success and our strategy centered on multi-unit development is accelerating the brand’s growth.

“Choice Hotels is currently collaborating with Stratus Development Partners on three Cambria hotels in Napa, California; Orlando, Florida; and Sonoma, California. When they approached us about developing five more hotels, we knew it would be a win-win.”

The first site of Choice Hotels and Stratus Development Partners will be located in Santa Clara while the second site will be in San Francisco.  The Santa Clara site will have 180 rooms.

There are more than 35 Cambria properties open across the US and over 100 hotels open or in the pipeline in the US and Canada. Future openings are planned in Austin, Texas; Baltimore; Boston; Calabasas, California; Charleston, South Carolina; Houston; Miami; Minneapolis; Napa, California; San Francisco and Washington, D.C.
