Global hospitality group Hilton has opened its first property in Nagasaki, which expands its flagship presence in Japan.

Hilton Nagasaki is located to the west of the Nagasaki Station and represents the second Hilton property in the Kyushu region.

It offers convenient access to major tourist destinations including Mount Inasa and other UNESCO World Heritage sites.

Hilton Asia Pacific president Alan Watts said: “Nagasaki has long represented a gateway to Japan, and we are delighted to partner with Gloverhill Inc to bring the first Hilton hotel to the city as we continue to expand our footprint in key destinations across the region.”

Hilton Nagasaki features 200 rooms including four suites of up to 97m2 in size.

Guest amenities at the hotel include an exclusive lounge for guests, fitness centre, a hot bath, flexible banquet spaces, and a wedding chapel.

The hotel is designed to meet the needs of both leisure and business travellers.

Dining venues include Tamatsurumi, a Japanese restaurant serving teppanyaki, tempura and sushi; Fukukairo, a Chinese restaurant catering modern Chinese cuisine; De Vaert, an all-day dining restaurant that serves a variety of seasonal delicacies and dishes; and Seven Seas, a lounge and bar that offers tea and cocktails.

Watts added: “The opening of Hilton Nagasaki is especially significant as it marks our 500th hotel in Asia Pacific. Reaching such a milestone during this uncertain time is a testament to Hilton’s resilience and commitment to setting the benchmark for hospitality in the world’s most sought-after destinations.”

In July, Hilton revealed plans to open a new 1,080-room flagship-branded hotel in Singapore in January 2022.

When open, Hilton Singapore Orchard will become the company’s largest hotel in Asia Pacific.
