Hyatt Hotels and Playa Hotels & Resorts have opened Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana and Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana resorts in the Dominican Republic.

Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana is a family-friendly resort, while Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana is an adults-only resort.

Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana and Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana resorts, which are owned and operated by Playa Hotels & Resorts, mark Hyatt’s foray into the Dominican Republic.

With the debut of the resorts in Cap Cana, the total count of Hyatt Ziva and Hyatt Zilara properties has touched eight across Mexico and the Caribbean.

The 375-room Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana and the 375-room Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana resorts are located on a 40-acre beachfront property on Juanillo Beach, in the eastern shores of the Dominican Republic in an exclusive gated community of Cap Cana.

Playa Hotels & Resorts chief operating officer Alex Stadlin said: “As our first ground-up build, we set out to define what all-inclusive means in the Dominican Republic.

The two resorts are designed by architect Ken Shannon and are claimed to evoke a premium experience. They cater to travelers seeking an adult escape or multigenerational experience.

They feature globally-inspired dining venues, a variety of water activities such as aqua cycling and paddle-boarding, and fitness centres modeled after a traditional rum distillery, and Larimar Spa.

The Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana offers  KidZ Club, Teen Zone, athletic courts and a water park.

Intended for large gatherings and multigenerational travelers, Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana and Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana feature 45,000ft2 of functional meeting and event space, over 12 breakout rooms, a covered terrace and event lawn.
