Hospitality firm Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has decided to implement enhanced safety and hygiene protocols as parts of its preparations to open its hotels following the Covid-19 related lockdown.

The move is set to be implemented across all its hotels operating under its brands of Taj, Vivanta, SeleQtions and Ginger.

Steps will include mandatory temperature checks of all guests and associates entering the hotels and increasing the frequency of cleaning of common and high-touch areas of hotels.

IHCL also decided to carry out check-in and check-out formalities digitally as far as possible to minimise contact.

Restaurants and banquet areas will also operate with fewer tables, while self-serving buffets will remain suspended.

The front-end employees, such as valets, housekeeping, guest relations and back room staff, were trained to comply with social distancing guidelines.
