InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), a hotel company, has renovated Crowne Plaza Atlanta Perimeter at Ravinia in the US.

The hotel, owned by Hospitality Properties Trust (HPT), is situated close to IHG’s Americas corporate headquarters.

The renovated property is the first of six new global flagships to open.

It has been renovated to meet the changing needs of business travelers and leisure guests.

IHG CEO for Americas Elie Maalouf said: “The Crowne Plaza Atlanta Perimeter at Ravinia represents more than a single hotel renovation – it illustrates our aspiration for the future of this brand globally. This location is highly visible to thousands of travelers, corporate business people, and global visitors to the IHG headquarters every day, and we appreciate HPT’s continued partnership and passion in elevating this flagship property.”

Recently, the Crowne Plaza brand announced opening of new flagship properties in the US, UK, France, Germany and Greater China by Q1 2020.

Crowne Plaza Atlanta Perimeter at Ravinia, as the Americas flagship, features design elements in line with the Crowne Plaza Accelerate brand transformation programme, including the WorkLife Room design, which is a concept that caters to blended lifestyles of guests.

The hotel also includes Plaza Workspace, a flexible work and meeting solution that allows guests to optimise their productivity at the property’s public spaces.

Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts vice president for Americas Meredith Latham said: “Travelers continue to evolve, this is especially true for business travelers.  What was once known as the business trip is now integrated with leisure experiences.  We continuously innovate against those changing needs so Crowne Plaza Hotels and Resorts can deliver the special design, amenities and experiences to meet or exceed those expectations.”

The hotel has tapped expertise from IHG’s KimptonÒ Hotels & Restaurants to design and develop three restaurant concepts.

These concepts consist of Parkwoods, an upscale restaurant; Lightwell, a lobby café and bar; and Backyard at Parkwoods, a “picnic and beer” version of the main restaurant.
