InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) is set to open its new property Hotel Indigo Gibraltar, as part of a franchise agreement signed with property developer Roquebrook.

The new 120-room Hotel Indigo Gibraltar is located close to the Old Town and will offer rooms facing north towards Spain and eastward-looking rooms with views over the Northern Defences.

IHG Southern Europe Development associate vice-president Hylko Versteeg said: “We’re delighted to be opening our first IHG hotel in Gibraltar with Roquebrook, which we recognise is becoming an increasingly popular destination for both business and leisure travellers.

“The Hotel Indigo brand continues to rapidly grow in boutique, the industry’s fastest growing segment, and we’re excited that the Rouquebrook team recognise the brand’s huge potential for their latest project.”

The building was converted from an existing office block and would be entirely reconfigured with a new facade and rooftop extension.

Amenities to be offered include an onsite gym, a destination restaurant and bar for locals as well as guests.
