Ras Al Khaimah based hotel developer RAK AMI Hotel has announced that the Mövenpick Resort Al Marjan Island project is progressing as per schedule, despite the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Nearly 40% of the total construction on the project has been completed after resources were mobilised to accelerate the required work.

RAK AMI Hotel awarded a contract to NSCC for excavation, piling and enabling works. These works were concluded in February last year.

NSCC erected a total of 460 working piles for the hotel project.

Following a competitive tender with three other contractors, Al Ali Construction & Development won the construction contract for the project.

After the commencement of groundwork in April, construction on the hotel started in July last year.

The hotel with 418 rooms will involve a total development cost of AED543m ($147.8m) and feature a ballroom that can host more than 400 guests.

Amenities to be offered include two beach front restaurants, a garden restaurant and rooftop sunset terrace, a kids club, and modern gymnasium and spa, all featuring indoor and outdoor options.

The project team includes MACE, ATKINS and KQS.
