The hotels in the Ras Al Khaimah, which were used as quarantine centres for Covid-19 patients, have discharged the final batch of Covid-19 patients.

According to local news reports, the UAE emirate used five hotels as quarantine facilities the number of cases peaked.

Ras Al Khaimah Police commander-in-chief Major General Ali Al Nuaimi was quoted by the National as saying: “Some hotels were allocated for isolation and some for quarantine and all of them are empty after the last patients and suspected cases left the facility.”

He also appreciated the efforts of the frontline staff and other support team in combating the pandemic.

The Ras Al Khaimah field hospital is currently treating around 16 patients. They are expected to be discharged next week, an Arabic newspaper Emarat Al Youm reported.

The UAE has confirmed more than 53,500 Covid-19 cases in the country. The death toll due to coronavirus stands at 328.
