The Postcard Hotel, a premium India-based hotel brand that launched less than a year ago, will go international in November when it opens The Postcard Dewa in Bhutan and The Postcard Galle in Sri Lanka.

The Postcard Dewa has 15 suites and is a 40-minute drive from the Paro International Airport. The Postcard Galle in Sri Lanka will open with ten suites.

Kapil Chopra, the founder and CEO of The Postcard Hotel, was quoted by The Economic Times of India as saying: “We handpick our locations and our hotels so that guests have an authentic experience. Sri Lanka is the perfect location to explore the cultural landscape of the charming town of Galle, steeped in history dating back hundreds of years.

“While Bhutan, with its rich culture and breath-taking landscapes, has long been on the bucket list of most exclusive and luxury travellers. Guests will now be able to enjoy the best of luxury Indian hospitality that perfectly complements the unique splendour of these destinations.”

The Postcard Hotel intends to own or manage more than US$1bn of assets in five years. Currently, it has more than Rs10bn of assets under management and upcoming projects across South Asia.

The hotel group says it is also on track to open 50 hotels in five years, all of which will be done through a combination of acquisition of assets, long term leases or management of the properties.
