
Virgin Hotels, a brand of hotels of Virgin Group founder Sir Richard Branson, has broken ground on Virgin Hotels New Orleans.
This would be Virgin Hotels’ seventh property. The brand currently has operational properties in Chicago and San Francisco, while Dallas property is set to open soon. Hotels in in Nashville, New York, Las Vegas and Edinburgh are under construction.
Located at 550 Baronne Street in the Warehouse District, Virgin Hotels New Orleans is adjacent to Central Business District. The hotel is also close to several restaurants, galleries and shops.
Featuring more than 200 chambers, the property will include multiple dining and drinking outlets.
The property will feature signature Commons Club and Funny Library Coffee Shop. It will also have a rooftop pool and lounge, gym and event spaces. In addition, the newest venture will have numerous meeting spaces.
Virgin Hotels New Orleans will be completed by Mathes Brierre Architects and Callison RTKL Architects and Broadmoor Construction.

Virgin Group CEO Raul Leal commented: “We’ve had our eyes on New Orleans for a while, so we’re thrilled to be kicking off construction today.”
In February 2019, Virgin Hotels opened its newest hotel in SoMa (South of Market), San Francisco. The hotel, which is located at 250 4th Street, is in close proximity to the new Central Subway Station in SoMa.
