Epidemiologist Daily Update

By Paul Dennis

10 April

Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) has now spread across 184 countries with approximately 1.5 million total confirmed cases worldwide.
The US, as the current epicentre of this disease, now reports 432,000 cases nationally. Thought to still be in the acceleration phase of Covid-19, the US can expect to see a further rise in cases in the coming days.

In Europe, countries such as Italy and Spain, have seen an overall decrease in the number of new cases reported each day. If this continues to happen they will join China in the recovery phase.
Other countries such as the UK and Turkey are expected to see a continued increase in cases as they have not yet reached their peak.
