The US hotel industry posted an 8.2% increase in revenue per available (revPAR) room for October 2010, according to STR data.
US hotels also recorded increases in two other key performance areas: occupancy rose by 6.9% and the average daily rate (ADR) increased by 1.2%.
The city of Detroit recorded the highest occupancy growth with 16.3%, followed by New Orleans with 14.8% and Dallas with 13.2%.
New York and Boston experienced ADR increases of more than 5% while Philadelphia and New Jersey posted the largest ADR falls with 7.3%, followed by Nashville with 5.1%.
Atlanta and New Orleans posted the largest revPAR increases with 17.7% and 17.6 %, respectively.
