Palestine Hotel Occupancy Rises

Hotel occupancy in Palestine increased by 24% during the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2010, according to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS).

Room occupancy reached 41% in Q4 2010, up by 17% compared with the third quarter and 12.5% compared with the same quarter a year earlier.

The total number of hotel guests increased to 171,000, of which 36% were from European Union countries, 16.5% from European countries and 13% from US and Canada, according to www.wafa.ps.

The hotels are located in East Jerusalem, which has 29 properties with 1,452 rooms; Ramallah, which has 25 hotels with 935 rooms; Bethlehem and south of the West Bank, with 25 hotels with 1,873 rooms; and north of the West Bank, which has seven hotels.
