Hotel Leela Venture Unveils Indian Expansion Plan

Hotel Leela Venture is to invest Rs1bn ($22m) in the refurbishment of its hotel in Goa in 2011. The Indian hotel group will increase the number of rooms from 186 to 206, add new restaurants and a spa, and refurbish all rooms. The company will also renovate its property in Ko

Hotel Leela Venture is to invest Rs1bn ($22m) in the refurbishment of its hotel in Goa in 2011.

The Indian hotel group will increase the number of rooms from 186 to 206, add new restaurants and a spa, and refurbish all rooms.

The company will also renovate its property in Kovalam, Kerala, in 2012, although it has yet to finalise the budget for this project.

The company, which operates seven luxury hotels in India, plans to add more properties across the country, including owned and managed properties, in Kolkata, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Agra, Hyderabad, Lake Ashtamudi and Jaipur.

The company’s international plan includes collaboration with Global Hotel Alliance, a hotel group that owns 12 independent brands.
