Kuwait Hotel Occupancy Rises

Hotel occupancy in Kuwait increased by 3% to 61% for March 2011 compared with the same period in 2010, according to a report by Al-Tameer Company.

For the first half of 2011 the country’s price per room during rose by 4.3% to KD79 per night.

Hotel occupancy in the MENA region fell by 12.9% to 57.8% during March 2011, its average daily rate (ADR) rose by 9% to $172.89 and revenue per available room (revPAR) dropped 5.1% to KD99.98 compared with March 2010.

During January-March 2011, MENA’s hotel occupancy fell by 7.8% to 56.8%, ADR rose by 9.4% to $176.31 and revPAR increased by 0.9% to $100.17 compared with the same period in 2010, reports the Kuwait News Agency.
