Starwood Expands Gulf Portfolio

Starwood Hotels and Resorts is to open two new hotels in Medina, Saudi Arabia, as part of its expansion plan in the Gulf region.

The new properties, Sheraton Medina Hotel and Four Points by Sheraton Medina, will open in the fourth quarter of 2012 and are expected to add more than 450 rooms to the company’s portfolio in the city of Medina.

Sheraton Medina Hotel will comprise 297 rooms, a lounge and a meeting room.

Four Points by Sheraton Medina, which is located adjacent to the Sheraton Medina Hotel, will offer 178 rooms, a fitness centre and a business centre.

Starwood Hotels and Resorts operates ten hotels in Saudi Arabia under the Sheraton, Westin and Le Meridien brands.
