UK-based Skelwith Group will begin the construction of a £100m hotel, the Flaxby Country Resort, in Yorkshire, UK, in July 2011.

The five-star hotel, which covers 283 acres of woodland, will provide four helipads, three restaurants, a luxury spa complex, and bars and boutiques.

Proposals also include a £3m overhaul of the A59, with a new roundabout to service the site and the creation of an extra lane to junction 47 of the A1, as part of the enabling works for the hotel.

The group is already overseeing a £30m development to transform Raithwaite Hall, which is sited on the edge of North York Moors National Park, into a 45-bedroom luxury hotel and spa.
