Financial services company Blackstone is in negotiations to buy UK-based hotel group Mint Hotels for £575m.

Blackstone saw off a competing bid from US firm TPG for the group, which operates seven hotels in the UK and one in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Mint Hotels develops, owns and operates all of its hotels.

Following the opening of the new Mint Hotel Amsterdam in May 2011, Mint Hotels operates 2,783 bedrooms, of which almost half were added in the past year.
