Indian Hotels subsidiary Roots Corporation is to open 50 new Ginger hotels within two years with an investment of Rs6bn ($133m).
Roots Corporation CEO Prabhat Pani said the new properties would come under different models, with a 100-room hotel expected to cost between Rs120m and Rs180m, according to mydigitalfc.com.
Most of the planned properties will be in commercial towns.
The company currently has 25 Ginger hotels and will speed up its expansion activities over the next two years after the sale of a minority stake to Omega TC Holdings in Singapore.
Roots Corporation recently announced the opening of Ginger properties in Manesar, Indore and Tirupur, and plans to open in other areas including Faridabad, Greater Noida, Chandigarh, Hyderabad and Mumbai.
