UK hotels report July occupancy rise

UK hotels recorded a rise in room occupancy for July 2011, according to figures from PKF Hotel Consultancy Services. In London, room occupancy stood at 92.5% in July, an increase of 0.6% for the same period last year, room rates increased by 6.1% to £163.01 and room yield was up 6.7% a

UK hotels recorded a rise in room occupancy for July 2011, according to figures from PKF Hotel Consultancy Services.

In London, room occupancy stood at 92.5% in July, an increase of 0.6% for the same period last year, room rates increased by 6.1% to £163.01 and room yield was up 6.7% at £150.80.

Region-wide, July’s average room rates increased by 1.6% to £68.13, while room occupancy rose to 79.3% from 77.9%.

Manchester’s room rates increased by 2.6% to £67.37, room occupancy rose by 5.7% to 82.5% and room yield was up by 8.5% at £55.58.

Leeds’ room rates rose by 0.7% to £59.69, while room occupancy fell by 0.1% to 77.6%.
