UK-based G24 Innovations (G24I) and US-based Skyco Shading Systems have secured a contract with an undisclosed global hotel chain to take part in a major renovation of a flagship hotel.
The contract is for the installation of energy-efficient shades in over 8,000 of the hotel’s windows.
The wireless automated shade system will be powered by G24I’s Gen-3 indoor solar technology, which works by providing enough electricity inside the building to power the wireless shade system.
The indoor power solution eliminates the need for wires and saves $3m on installation costs.
Skyco president Sandee Young said the use of G24I’s indoor power solutions could increase the use of energy-efficient shade systems globally by reducing installation costs.
