Macao records increase in July hotel occupancy

The average hotel occupancy rate of Macao, China, reached 88.9% in July 2011, with four-star hotels leading at 93.1%, according to figures released by the city's Statistics and Census Service. Local hotels and guesthouses received a total of 795,827 guests in July, a 21.5% increase year

The average hotel occupancy rate of Macao, China, reached 88.9% in July 2011, with four-star hotels leading at 93.1%, according to figures released by the city’s Statistics and Census Service.

Local hotels and guesthouses received a total of 795,827 guests in July, a 21.5% increase year-on-year, with the majority coming from the Chinese mainland (54.2%) and Hong Kong (21.5%).

The total number of available guestrooms increased by 10.5% year-on-year to 21,804 rooms at the end of July 2011.

Visitors in the first seven months of 2011 accounted for 61.5% of the total number of tourists in Macao, 1% higher than the same period in 2010.
