Some of London’s most luxurious hotels have been exposed over instances of a lack of cleanliness that were described by environmental inspectors as a “serious danger to health”.

The Observer newspaper obtained environmental health reports from Westminster Council which criticised the Savoy, the Halkin, the Langham and the Dorchester. In one instance a potential source of Legionnaire's disease was found in taps and air conditioning, while dangerous bacteria was discovered in pools and spas.
