UK hotel operator Ramada Jarvis has announced that a £52m programme of refurbishment and redevelopment across the group’s 42 UK hotels will now be supported by an extensive brand marketing campaign, overseen by a new commercial team.

Key to the investment will be the redevelopment of Manchester Piccadilly and the new build at London Heathrow. Both projects are due for completion in spring 2008.

“With our massive investment in refurbishments and the new commercial team on board, our focus now is on building the brand and effectively communicating our excellent portfolio of sites,” said Rosemarie Shill, commercial director of Ramada Jarvis.

“Our promise is to deliver the best possible experience of the Ramada Jarvis brand, whether it’s a short break, business trip, conference, wedding or social event.”

Rosemarie Shill, as commercial director, brings extensive industry experience and commercial focus to the brand. Under Shill’s direction the commercial team has expanded with specialists in each area to maximise commercial opportunities.

Gareth Gaston, with 11 years in e-commerce and distribution, will drive the online partners’ strategy while David Witham, director of marketing and partnerships, will lead a marketing push to raise the profile of the Ramada Jarvis brand. June will see the re-launch of a redesigned website and a 12 month advertising campaign that will communicate the Ramada Jarvis brand to the customers in a new way.
