JJW Hotels & Resorts has bought UK boutique hotel group The Eton Collection for £70m.
The five Eton Collection hotels, located in London, Leeds and Edinburgh, recorded a £15m turnover in 2006, with an average occupancy rate of 75%.
The acquisition will take JJW’s UK properties from three to eight luxury hotels.
The Eton Collection chief executive Peter Tyrie is to become chief executive of JJW Hotels & Resorts United Kingdom.
A subsidiary of MBI International, JJW is owned by Saudi businessman Sheikh Mohamed bin Issa Al Jaber.
