InterContinental Hotels Group is implementing an online booking system for meetings in its US and Canadian hotels.

The web-based system, provided by technology company Passkey, will allow meeting planners to manage their bookings with greater ease and efficiency.

IHG says event attendees will be able to make their hotel reservations online, upload rooming lists, automatically link reservation information to IHG hotels and track hotel block pick-up and reservation status through real-time reports.

During 2008 the system will be rolled out in 250 hotels across the InterContinental Hotels & Resorts and Crowne Plaza brands in the US and Canada, as well as some Holiday Inn hotels.
