Gaming complex Crown Casino has announced plans to build Australia’s biggest hotel in Melbourne.
The A$300m, 658 room hotel is part of Crown’s A$505m redevelopment of its existing Crown Towers Hotel and gaming room floor.
Crown’s chief executive David Courtney does not expect to encounter any planning problems and has asked planning minister Justin Madden to fast-track its application, newspaper The Age reports.
Courtney says the hotel needs to gain approval this month in order to be completed by May 2010.
