A survey of 500 owners of some of the world’s most exclusive hotels has revealed confidence in the hospitality industry is high and that the internet is increasingly important in marketing to and retaining customers.

The WORLDHOTELS survey shows 84% of its members believe current positive trading conditions will continue for at least the next three years, with 88% believing their REVPAR will be higher in 2008, due to factors such as improved yield management, advanced revenue strategies or increased demand.

The internet continues to rank as an important business tool, with 86% believing consumers will use hotel websites over online travel agents within the next three years.
