Communication systems providers Cisco Systems and Nortel have signed an agreement with InterContinental Hotels Group to provide communication systems and streamline in-house technology across the group’s Middle Eastern and African properties.
InterContinental says Cisco will ensure business travellers can stay connected whether in a lobby, conference room or guestroom.
Nortel will install the latest telecommunication systems such as Voice over IP with IP Phones, data network equipment and network active components.
The technology will support system reliability, improve internet access throughout the hotels and better functionality of telephones and multi-media facilities.
InterContinental has 74 properties across the region, with plans to double this number by 2010.
