Marriott International has announced the addition of two new properties to its global portfolio – in the Maldives and Switzerland.
The 100-villa Renaissance Maldives Gaakoshibee Resort & Spa in the Shaviyani Atoll is expected to open in 2009.
Managed by ADK Travels Private Ltd, the resort is a 55-min seaplane ride from the Maldives capital city Malé.
A 174-room Courtyard by Marriott will open in Basel, Switzerland in 2010, under a franchise agreement with a subsidiary of the SV Group.
The property will be the fourth Marriott in Switzerland.
